Mentoring program for MSc students

Welcome to the info pages of the biology master’s degree program at the Institute of Biology of Freie Universität Berlin!

I am Marc Tehranian and I am studying at the FU since 2022. I am currently enrolled in the master’s program biodiversity, evolution and ecology and focus on soil ecology and global change. When I’m not in the lab, you’ll probably find me practicing karate, looking out for cool plants, or reading some books somewhere in the green :-)
Since I came to Berlin for my master´s program previously I know how it feels to be a new student in a new city. So I am familiar with the questions that might pop up in such an overwhelming situation.

I’m Chama, currently specializing in molecular and cell biology. I enjoy dancing and baking. As an international student myself, I understand the challenges that come with studying abroad. Drawing from my passion for biology and experience at various Berlin Research Institutes, I aim to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for you. You can always contact me (English, Spanish, German, Arabic, and French) at the following address: chan99@zedat.fu-berlin.de

Because of that, we will be your mentors for the upcoming winter semester, and you can always contact us (German/English) at this address:

With the mentoring program, we want to give you support and we will be your contact persons whenever you have questions. These can be all kinds of questions – no matter how stupid they might seem. If we cannot answer, we will probably know who to ask! We will also offer a Campus Tour and some mentoring sessions where we will explain some basic programs and platforms we use at FU, that might be helpful for you.

The Campus Tour will start at approximately 13:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 04, 2023. (Königin-Luise-Straße 12-16)
