Every two years, the foundation announces a research prize. The topic is related to current, strongly developing areas of the life sciences. The call is aimed at outstanding young researchers who can already be regarded as "door openers" in their respective fields. The prize is endowed with 10,000 Euros.

The call is published in selected print and electronic media, indicating the topic and application details. The application deadline is 31 July each year.

The Peter and Traudl Engelhorn Foundation for the advancement of Life Sciences invites high potential young scientists to apply for the Research Prize.

Applicants not older than 35 years, living/working in Austria, Germany or Switzerland, distinguished by their outstanding scientific achievements in Life Sciences (bio-informatics, systems biology, molecular biology, genetics, proteomics, biochemistry, biophysics, cell-biology, microbiology, biotechnology) dedicated to Life Sciences and manifested by appropriate publications are welcome.
