Tzschucke Group
The research interest of our group is focussed on the chemistry of transition metal complexes and their use as catalysts for organic reactions. We investigate the reactivity of transition metal compounds with the aim of elucidating and understanding the elementary steps of a catalytic cycle. With this mechanistic knowledge we try to improve existing catalytic processes and develop new synthetically useful catalytic reactions. We are particularly interested in the functionalization of unactivated C-H bonds and the reactivity of low-ligated complexes.
Our work touches on inorganic as well as organic chemistry, ranging from the synthesis of new ligands, isolation of sensitive organometallic compounds to kinetic measurements.
