Low-dimensional Chemistry
Welcome to Chen Group. Our research draws on recent developments in low-dimensional materials such as 2D transition metal dichalcogenides and graphene to pursue the goal of developing low-dimensional chemistry for atomic-level control over matter and functions. We also investigate the behavior of chemical species within various types of dimension-confined spaces, including the surfaces of 2D materials, heterointerfaces, nanochannels, and nanopores. These objectives hold potential for various applications such as sensing, sieving, catalysis, energy conversion, and beyond. We believe that exploring chemistry in low-dimensional spaces can unveil novel functional materials and exotic physical phenomena, all while revolutionizing chemical reactions.
