As Scientific Coordinator, Dr. Francesco Cannizzaro facilitates international research collaborations, streamlines plans and executes funding and talent acquisition strategies across national and international initiatives. Under the framework of the Einstein Visiting Fellowhips grant awarded to Prof. Freund and Prof. Krogan (UCSF), he manages the collaboration between the FU and the USCF. He also helps Prof. Freund managing the transregio DFG project TRR 186. He is passionate about fostering external partnerships to support innovation turning strong ideas into funded, collaborative research.

Francesco Cannizzaro holds a PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology where he developed first-principles microkinetics models of the catalytic hydrogenation of carbon dioxide to methaol. During his postdoc at the Fritz Haber Intitute of the Max Planck Society, he developed active learning protocols for the automatic exploration of catalytic reacton networks.
