Dr. Francesco Cannizzaro

Scientific Project Coordinator

Address
Thieleallee 63
14195

Francesco Cannizzaro holds a PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology where he developed first-principles microkinetics models of the catalytic hydrogenation of carbon dioxide to methaol. During his postdoc at the Fritz Haber Intitute of the Max Planck Society, he developed active learning protocols for the automatic exploration of catalytic reacton networks.

Next to his scientific endavors, he was involved in scientific project management, writing of grant proposal and scientific outreach. In his current rols as Scientific Coordinator at Freie Universität Berlin, he facilitates international research collaborations and streamlines plans and executes funding and talent acquisition strategies across national and international initiatives. Under the framework of the Einstein Visiting Fellowhips grant awarded to Prof. Freund and Prof. Krogan (UCSF), he manages the collaboration between the FU and the USCF. He also helps Prof. Freund managing the transregio DFG project TRER 186. He is passionate about fostering external partnerships to support innovation turning strong ideas into funded, collaborative research.
