Born and raised in Berlin, Sascha studied Biophysics at the Humboldt-University Berlin and completed his thesis in the group of Prof. Oschkinat at the Leibniz-Institut für Molekulare Pharmakologie (FMP). During this time he worked on the Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) technique in biological applications of solid state NMR. His main focus was the analysis of the folding state of nascent chains within the ribosome exit tunnel. In March 2013 he joined the group of Prof. Freund to investigate reversible lipid modification of membrane associated polypeptides by different NMR methods.
