We are interested in the evolution and ecology of insects and bacterial resistance evolution. This encompasses the evolution of insect immunity, antimicrobial peptides, insect-microbe interactions and the evolution of complete metamorphosis.

Our group collaborates closely with the labs of Dino McMahon and Sophie Armitage. We are part of the DFG-funded research consortium FOR 5026 InsectInfect.

We are involved in a project on biodiversity preservation on campus.

We are also members of the ZIBI Interdisciplinary Center of Infection Biology and Immunity and the Berlin Brandenburg Institute of Advanced Biodiversity Research.
