Services for Researchers
Core Facilities
The staff of the Core Facility BioSupraMol at Freie Universität Berlin help scientists and students at Freie Universität – especially within the Department of Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy – as well as external scientists to solve complex analytical issues. They also maintain large-scale equipment for the analysis of biomacromolecular and supramolecular compounds. Additional services are provided by the Hasenstab-Riedel and Spandl working groups.
SupraFAB Research Building
Researchers from the Department of Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy and Department of Physics at Freie Universität Berlin work together closely within the Supramolecular Functional Architectures at Biointerfaces (SupraFAB) project conducted in the SupraFAB Research Building.
The building is home to ultramodern large-scale equipment, high-tech laboratories, and ample spaces where researchers can meet and interact. These facilities are highly useful in supporting early-career researchers, one of SupraFAB’s top priorities.
Research Division
The Research Division of Freie Universität Berlin informs, advises, and supports researchers with regard to subjects such as
- Research funding programs
- Externally funded projects: application, approval, financial administration, legal issues
- Presentation of externally funded projects in an online database
- Commercial exploitation of research results, development of application ideas, setting up a company
Workshops
The Department Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy runs mechanics, electronics, electrics, pumps, and glassblower workshops to cover both everyday repairs as well as the construction of special customized lab equipment.
Materials Management
Materials Management supplies all members of the Department of Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy with solvents, chemicals, laboratory equipment, and office supplies.
fu:stat
The statistical consulting team at Freie Universität Berlin, fu:stat, advises students and employees on statistical issues.
Campus Library
The Campus Library at Fabeckstraße 23/25 holds literature for Sciences, Cultural Studies, Education, Mathematics, Computer Science and Psychology.
