Our aim is to develop robust routes to biologically relevant natural products by harnessing a framework reconstruction approach as well as C–H-functionalization chemistry. Insights into the biogenesis guide our work. The analysis of reactivity patterns also allows us to collect evidence for a speculative biogenesis.
