Stable Alkali-Metal Complexes of Hybrid Disila-Crown Ethers

Contrary to cyclosiloxanes, the herein presented disilane groups bearing crown ethers act as excellent ligands for alkali-metal ions. Via proton NMR spectroscopy and quantum chemical methods, the binding affinity of these hybrid ligands was determined to be in the range of their organic analogues.
