Lea Dettling’s publication on “Phosphorus Derivatives of Mesoionic Carbenes: Synthesis and Characterization of Triazaphosphole-5-ylidene→BF₃ Adducts” is now published in Chemical Communications as part of the themed collection: Chemical Communications HOT Articles 2023. We show that BF4⁻ -salts of Si(CH₃)₃- substituted triazaphospholenium cations undergo elimination of FSi(CH₃)₃ to form selectively BF₃ adducts of unprecedented triazaphosphol-5-ylidenes. These heterocycles are the phosphorus congeners of tetrazol-5-ylidene carbenes.
