We have a long-lasting interest in the chemistry of compounds with metallacoronands and -cryptands. This work was initiated by Nguyen Hung Huy during his PhD work in our groups and was continued by a number of excellent PhD students coming from Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Brazil, Cameroon and Germany.

Most of our recent studies in this field were done in collaboration with the groups of Prof. Nguyen Hung Huy and Pham Chien Thang, University of Science Hanoi, Vietnam.
