I’m working on the biotransformation of doping compounds in human by Uridine diphosphate-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs), which is one of the most important human phase II drug metabolite enzymes. In my project, I’m basically focus on propranolol and its equipotent phase I metabolite 4-hydroxypropranolol. Propranolol is not only used for medical treatment but also abused in some sports. Therefore, it’s of great research value to investigate its metabolism. The biotransformation experiments were done by in vitro recombinant fission yeasts and the metabolite were analyzed on LC-QTOF and LC-QQQ.
