My work focuses on synthesizing A-ring reduced metabolites of Methylclostebol - an anabolic androgenic steroid included in the WADA prohibited list. Therefore, Its application is not allowed
in or out of competition.
In the analytical field, synthesizing reference material is crucial for the identification of steroid metabolites in human matrices, such as urine samples. With the help of my synthesized reference material, I will be able to compare the retention times, mass spectra, and fragmentation patterns, to ensure confident identification and differentiation among closely related compounds. After derivatization, I use GC-MS to identify the synthesized metabolites as bis-TMS derivatives.
