The workshop is geared towards the subject-specific needs of the natural sciences and is intended to promote interactions and suggestions for reflection of your own teaching. Participants will receive practical tips and thematic information on how to deal with gender and diversity, such as how to shape the culture of discussion and learning or how to explicitly address unequal participation and discussion behavior.

A special focus - not least because of the legal implications - is placed on gender- and diversity-conscious language in speech and writing: in order to create visibility, address everyone and avoid stereotypical representation and discrimination at the department.

The workshop will take place on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the seminar room B.-131 at Arnimallee 22. Your trainer is Dr. Jana Gerlach, staff member of "Toolbox Gender and Diversity in Teaching".

The workshop is aimed at all faculty in the department, especially new lecturers.
