Introduction Module

Important: will be in presence

The Introduction module is the first course every MSc students have to visit.

Due to the situation during the winter term, there are some changes compared to previous years. We will be possible to do all parts in presence with the first part of the module in beginning of October and a second part later. Please have a look to the rules of presence at our university.

9:00 - 9:30   Welcome and information on the course “Introduction into Advanced Biology” (Daniel Schubert)
09:30 – 12:00   Information of the Office of Study Affairs, Office of Examanition and Mentoring

Introduction of research groups I (25 + 5 min) – Evolution

Introduction of research groups II (25 + 5 min) – Ecology

10:15 – 10:30   break
10:30 – 11:00  

Introduction of research groups III (25 + 5 min) – Neurobiology

11:00 - 11:15  

Introduction of research groups IV (10 + 5 min) – Microbiology

Introduction of research groups IV (25 + 5 min) – Molecular microbial & plant sciences

11:45 - 13:30

14:00 – 15:30   “How to prepare a poster” – Daniel Schubert

- The attendance in presence is mandatory. For students who cannot join due to health issues,

travel restrictions or other acceptable reasons, please contact Daniel Schubert  


Those students can join via WebEx:



- For entering the lecture hall, you have to be SARS-CoV-2 vaccinated, recovered from a SARS-CoV-2 infection or negatively tested for SARS-CoV-2 (3G). We will check the certificates before the course


- When you find your seat, please register your attendance via the QR codes on the desks


- Please leave a distance of at least one seat to your neighbor


- In the building and the lecture hall, you will have to wear an FFP2 mask throughout
