PhD Course | Charité 3R Curriculum: Ethics and Practical Approaches in Biomedical Resear
This one-week PhD course introduces current developments of new approaches in biomedical research along the 3R principles of "Replacement, Reduction and Refinement". In lectures and practical exercises, Charité and TU research groups will present innovative methods such as 3D (bio)printing, organoids or in silico modelling and show how these can help minimizing or replacing the use of animals. In addition, we will discuss in interactive seminars legal and ethical aspects as well as practical ways to improve animal welfare. The courses are held in English as they are aimed at international doctoral students and young scientists from all universities.
The introductory course and the ethics course can also be taken separately (Part I; Oct 7), whereby we recommend exploring the full range of 3Rs (Part I + II; Oct 7 - 11).
