Research Projects

Research projects can be carried out within the Institute of Chemistry and Biochemistry, outside the Institute and/or completely externally. For all research projects, you will need a lecturer from our institute who, in consultation with the on-site supervisor, will carry out the grading.

Research projects do not have to be completed full-time; the processing times are then extended accordingly. If you are not yet sure about the exact duration of your project, it is sufficient to state the start date or the semester in which the research project is to be completed.

Please register the research project 1-2 weeks in advance. An extension or change to the credit points to be earned does not have to be applied for separately, but must be indicated in the assessment field when grading. The examination date corresponds to the submission date of the report. The registration form can be used for internal and external research projects.

Please note:

You will have to complete 20-30 CP in 2 or more research groups. This applies for larger working groups and possibly different supervisors and/or subject areas. You must complete a minimum of 15 CP in the areas of Inorganic and Organic Chemistry or Physical and Theoretical Chemistry. A combination of several research projects is possible.
