The Collaborative Research Center 1772 Heterostructures of Molecules and Two-Dimensional Materials operates at the interface of physics and chemistry, investigating heterostructures composed of molecules and two-dimensional materials. Around 60 researchers across 19 subprojects study hybrid systems consisting of organic molecules and ultrathin crystalline material layers.

The CRC 1772 actively supports women by awarding a monthly scholarship of 992 euros to female master’s students of chemistry and physics at Freie Universität Berlin.
