January 15, 2026: Introduction to version control with Git and GitHub
Git is an essential skill for anyone using a programming language. It helps you track changes to your project over time, collaborate with others, and maintain an organized project structure. This can save time, enhance research efficiency, and simplify code publishing on platforms like GitHub. In this lecture, I will introduce the basic concepts of Git, both in theory and practice, and how to use it for your projects. We will also explore how to publish your projects on a platform like GitHub, which is useful if you want to publish code used in a publication.
This lecture is primarily designed for Git beginners but will also benefit those who already use Git and want to understand the concepts behind the workflow.
