From job postings to hiring, renewal requests, and changes to employment contracts

The HR team at the Departmental Administration advises you on all questions regarding job postings and hiring, as well as changes to employment contracts (e.g. changes to working hours). All hires and contract amendments are ultimately processed and decided by the Personnel Division of the central university administration. You can find all current forms on the webpage of the Personnel Division of Freie Universität Berlin.

For job postings, it is generally necessary to submit a current job description (BAK). We provides a range of template job descriptions. Using these template descriptions can significantly reduce the processing time for job evaluation. Please feel free to contact us and carefully check whether changes to the template job description are necessary.

Interns

Are you planning to take on an intern in your department?

Please send the completed application for an internship agreement, along with a schedule and a description of the internship’s learning objectives, to personal@bcp.fu-berlin.de. For any questions, please contact Claudia Runge.

Visiting Professors, Visiting Lecturers

Are you interested in establishing a visiting professorship, for example, to fill a vacancy? The BCP Human Resources team can assist you in compiling the necessary documents.

Please first review the regulations set forth in the Administrative Guidelines on the Appointment of Visiting Professors and Lecturers at Freie Universität Berlin. Then submit the completed form “Application for the Hiring of a Visiting Scholar” along with the required attachments (in particular, a letter of justification, CV, and certificates) to personal@bcp.fu-berlin.de. After reviewing the documents, we will forward the application to the Personnel Division. Alina Rou will answer any questions you may have regarding visiting professors and visiting lecturers.

Visiting Scholars

For a short-term visit of reserarchers at Freie Universität Berlin for which no remuneration is paid, we ask that you sign a visiting scholar agreement. The agreement outlines the rights and obligations of visiting scholars. Please send the completed form to dekanatssekretariat@bcp.fu-berlin.de to obtain a signature from the Managing Director.

Personnel Budget Administration

The HR team supports you in managing personnel funds. This is relevant, for example, if you wish to access appointment funds, convert operational funds into personnel funds, or increase staff positions using operational funds.

Please indicate when applying for the relevant personnel measure that you wish to use appointment or operational funds for (partial) financing. Alexander Grun (personal@bcp.fu-berlin.de) will answer your questions.
