The containers under the washbasins are also for residual waste. Don't mix these containers up with the containers for the "operating material waste"! For example old posters are no hazardous waste and even your gloves should be disposed before they are hazardous. Dispose every no-hazard-waste into the household-waste-containers.
Never dispose sharp-edged material (glass splinters or cannulas) into the household waste containers in the lab! These containers are decanted by the cleaning staff. They must not be injured when they put their hands into the waste!
