Welcome to the Szekeres Group at the SupraFAB Research Facility of the Freie Universität Berlin. Our research mainly focuses on biomolecular phenomena both in isolated systems and in complex environments. We are highly interested in how glycosaminoglycans, lipids, and proteins interact with each other in crowded and/or highly structured environments, which can potentially lead us to the deeper understanding of drug interactions or infection mechanisms. For this, their fundamental biophysical and physical-chemical understanding is essential; therefore, we have also been developing custom optics setups to understand their properties.
