Dr. Allison Berger Awarded the 2026 Prize for Good Teaching

We are very pleased to announce that Dr. Allison Ann Berger has been awarded the 2026 Prize for Good Teaching in Chemistry at the Department of Biology, Chemistry and Pharmacy at Freie Universität Berlin.
This teaching award is presented annually by the students of Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry and Pharmacy to recognise particularly committed teachers and to promote excellent teaching within the department.
In their recognition of Dr. Berger’s teaching, students particularly highlighted her strong commitment to their learning process. They emphasised that her teaching goes beyond preparing students for exams and supports them in developing a genuine understanding of the subject matter. Her use of clear slides and blackboard explanations, videos, current research examples and different approaches to complex topics was especially appreciated. Students also pointed out her approachable teaching style and the attention she gives to their learning process.
The award is a well-deserved recognition of Dr. Berger’s dedication to teaching and her strong commitment to supporting students in their learning. We congratulate her on this achievement!
