MODAL-Project
Digital Twin of a Novel Chlorine Storage Technology
To support the transition towards a more flexible and sustainable chlorine production, we aim to demonstrate the scalability of our chlorine storage system from the laboratory to the industrial scale. In collaboration with the MODAL Research Campus, we are developing a “digital twin” of such a chlorine storage system. This involves a detailed mathematical simulation of the underlying chemical and physical processes within an experimental reactor system.
The model is designed to provide valuable insights into relevant scale-up parameters and enable the optimal control of charging and discharging processes, thereby creating a central foundation for transferring the storage system from the laboratory to industrial production environments.
