Persisters are bacterial cells that form small subpopulations and are refractory to antimicrobials, they provide a starting point for antimicrobial resistance evolution. My research investigates how pharmacokinetics influences the induction of those persisters using antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), fundamental components of innate defense mechanisms against pathogens and promising as new antimicrobials.
