Czaczkes Group - Applied Zoology and Animal Ecology

Here at the Applied Zoology and Animal Ecology group, we have a broad set of interests.

The Animal Cognition and Ecology laboratory (ACElab), headed by Prof. Tomer Czaczkes (LINK), studies a broad range of topics related to invertebrate behaviour, such as learning, decision-making, advanced cognition, insect welfare and ethics, collective decision-making, and invasive species control. Our focus is on ants and other social insects, but we have broad interests in all aspects of terrestrial invertebrate behaviour.

The Animal Chemical Ecology laboratory (ACElab), headed by Dr Katharina Brandt, studies a broad range of topics related to insect chemical ecology, such as insect-plant interactions, chemical communication, and sexual signalling. Our focus is on insect-plant communication, but we have broad interests in all aspects of chemical ecology.
