Are you passionate about your research and want to share it with the public whilst also raising the profile of women in science? Then look no further. Soapbox Science is for you!   We are on the look out for engaging and inspiring women scientists to join us at our first Soapbox Science event in Berlin!  

Soapbox Science is an annual public science communication event that aims to promote the role of women in science by turning public areas into arenas for public learning and scientific debate. This year's Berlin event will be held in Tempelhofer feld an ideal location for you to share your research with the world.  

If you are interested in applying to be one of our speakers please sign up here. The deadline is 24th of February. The event is free and your talk can be given in English, German or both. If you are interested and just want to be a volunteer on the day, we certainly have a place for you. Just contact Carolina Doran: carolina.doran@gmail.com.  

Soapbox 2017 events are looking for over 200 dynamic women in science who want to engage the public with their research and inspire the next generation of scientists. Now in its 7th year, Soapbox Science has showcased more than 350 top scientists around the world; it is a multi-award winning, and well-cited model for revolutionising diversity in science and widening participation in public engagement of science. Watch our film for a flavour of what it’s like! This will be the first Soapbox science event in Germany.  

In addition to applying yourself, please encourage your female colleagues (from PhD students to Professors) to apply to speak, to help challenge stereotypes in science and promote the visibility of women in STEMM.
