Dr. Stefanie Wedepohl studied biology at the Westfälische Wilhelms- Universität Münster. Her diploma research was hosted by the Center for Molecular Biology of Inflammation (ZMBE Münster) in the field of selectins. In 2002 she continued working on selectins in her doctoral research at the Charité Berlin under supervision of Prof. Tauber. During this time she was involved in projects of the SFB449 "Structure and Function of membrane receptors" and a DFG research group FOR463 "Innovative pharmaceutical substances and carrier systems" as well as glycobiology and imaging. In the beginning of 2010 she started her postdoctoral research in the same institute, focusing on selectin inhibition by novel chemical compounds using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and cell toxicity evaluation in collaborative projects with the chemistry departments of the FU Berlin (Prof. Haag, Prof. Kulak), HU Berlin (Prof. Seitz) and Uni Mainz (Prof. Opatz).
