Dr. José A. F. Monteiro

In my current assignment, I am interested to explore communities of different species composition in Mediterranean climate ecosystems to be used in restoration projects, and study these communities regarding the ecosystem services that they could provide in future climate change scenarios. Therefore, I plan to develop a spatial-explicit numeric model for plant growth and carbon partition, and integrate this model to an hydrological model. 

In parallel, I am working on a hydrological model for the Amazon basin using SWAT to explore the effects of different climate changes scenarios on the freshwater availability and partition into green or blue water in the Amazon.
